soluble in chloroform and aether.
Indications& Dosage:
Ractopamine Hcl is a feed additive that has the potential to further
increase the rate and efficiency of muscle tissue growth. It was
approved by the FDA for use in pigs to enhance growth and feed efficiency
on July 2000. Ractopamine Hcl is a feed ingredient given to cattle
during the final stage of the finishing period to increase live
weight gain, improve feed efficiency and increase red meat yield
while maintaining beef's natural taste, tenderness and juiciness.
It is a member of a class of compounds called phenethanolamines.
Ractopamine Hcl is neither a hormone, steroid, antibiotic or a product
of biotechnology.
Ractopamine Hcl should be fed at a concentration of 4.5g to 18g
of Ractopamine hcl per ton of complete feed(5ppm to 20ppm)for
increased rate of weight gain, improved feed efficiency, and increased
carcass leanness in a ration containing at least 16%crude protein
from 150 lb(68kgs)to 240 lb(109kg)body weight. (last 90 lbs. of
gain prior to slaughter).
Ractopamine Hcl has undergone extensive evaluation and review
by the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) for its' effectiveness
and safety. The FDA also approved Ractopamine Hcl in June 13,
2003 after thoroughly reviewing all data to ensure that Ractopamine
Hcl meets its stringent human food safety, animal safety and environmental
safety standards. Based on the U.S. FDA's evaluation, beef and
pork from Ractopamine Hcl-fed cattle and swine is safe for human
consumption.
